Born in El Paso, Texas in 1966, David Olivas grew up in a challenging environment. In school, he had no interest in his studies and became a disciplinary problem. When he graduated from high school, he never thought he’d return to the classroom, but in 1987, he enrolled at El Paso Community College and developed an interest for learning and reaching his full potential.

David Olivas has been writing for ten years. He has developed a strong passion for Chicano literature and movies and believes strongly that one day his books will be made into movies. David Olivas currently substitutes for Socorro District and Ysleta district. He lives in EL Paso Texas and is very proud of his home city.
